This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, meticulous, pragmatic, and effective in communication, to become a directorate officer of the Commission and be involved in a variety of Commission-wide policies and initiatives in regulating the financial market.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be the deputy to the Commission Secretary and Chief Governance Officer, and lead a team in the CEO’s Office to support the Board’s secretariat duties and organisational governance. Externally, you will play an active role in engaging with officials in the HKSAR Government, members of the Legislative Council (LegCo), fellow regulators, other public and industry organisations. Internally, you will organise the affairs of the Board and the Executive Committee, coordinate and facilitate the implementation of their directives, and strive to ensure good governance in the Commission’s operational processes. The greatest value of this role lies in looking after the Commission’s interest from an institutional perspective.
Requirements:
To qualify for this role, you must have a university degree and/or relevant professional qualification together with at least 12 years of relevant work experience in public administration, financial regulation or corporate governance. You must possess the ability to understand complex and sensitive issues, and be tactful and effective in communicating those issues. You should also be versatile and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment under time pressure, have good interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity. You should be a leader as well as a team player, and be receptive to changes. Previous contacts with the HKSAR Government, LegCo, and local public or industry organisations will be an advantage. You must have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is a definite advantage.
