We are actively seeking a specialist who possesses extensive experience and a proven track record in the fields of data analysis and computer programming. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing and strengthening our data analytics capabilities specifically within the realm of market surveillance. The specialist will not only contribute to our current projects but also help us develop innovative strategies and methodologies that can significantly improve our ability to detect market misconduct.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be part of the team responsible for the market surveillance function and carry out the following main responsibilities, including:
- Design and develop processes to extract, transform and analyse large amount of market and trading data.
- Establish analytical methods and models to identify potential market abuse.
- Support and enhance existing data analytical solutions.
- Work with experienced staff and the technology team to define, prioritize and drive initiatives to enhance the data analytics capabilities of the market surveillance function.
- Monitor and detect possible market misconduct including insider dealing and market manipulation, and make recommendations to senior management.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in data science, data analytics, or related roles.
- University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, SAS, and Python.
- Self-motivated and able to proactively manage and drive projects forward.
- Strong numerical/analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in SMARTS and/or the trade surveillance field is a plus.
- Strong communication skill and able to convey requirements and concepts clearly to others.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
