Mr Tony Tang is a Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). He is currently Head of China and Chairman of Greater China at Citadel Securities, responsible for the development and execution of the firm’s long-term business strategy in China.
Mr Tang has more than two decades of experience in the financial service industry. He was previously Head of China at BlackRock, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the international business of GF Securities and CEO of China Asset Management Company. Mr Tang also held a number of senior roles at the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission from 2009 to 2014, during which time he was credited with driving initiatives to significantly increase global capital inflows into the Mainland. Earlier in his career, Mr Tang worked at various leading financial services firms in the US, including RBS Greenwich, ABN Amro and JPMorgan.
Mr Tang is currently a board member of the Financial Services Development Council of Hong Kong, and a member of the Dean’s Council at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Previously, he was Vice-Chairman of the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ Investment Management Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Asset Management Association of China and Chairman of its Pension Technical Committee, and a member of the Abu Dhabi Global Market's Regulatory Committee.
